We`ve spent months growing it. Minutes stacking cheese on it. And several seconds wondering if we`d gone too far.
For our official #WaterlilyWeighOff26 entry, our Victoria Longwood Hybrid carried:

Each bloom of 𝘛𝘳𝘪𝘮𝘦𝘻𝘪𝘢 𝘮𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘤𝘦𝘯𝘴𝘪𝘴, also known as the 𝘆𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄 𝘄𝗮𝗹𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗿𝗶𝘀, opens for just a single day before fading away. But don`t worry - there`s always another flower waiting in the wings.

Elke bloem van 𝘛𝘳𝘪𝘮𝘦𝘻𝘪𝘢 𝘮𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘤𝘦𝘯𝘴𝘪𝘴, ook wel bekend als de `𝘄𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲 𝗶𝗿𝗶𝘀` bloeit slechts één dag voor hij verwelkt. Maar maak je geen zorgen – er staat altijd alweer een andere bloem klaar om het stokje over te nemen.

🌸At first glance, 𝗰𝗿𝗮𝗽𝗲 𝗺𝘆𝗿𝘁𝗹𝗲 (𝘓𝘢𝘨𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘰𝘦𝘮𝘪𝘢 𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘪𝘤𝘢) almost looks like a botanical craft project - its flowers are so thin, crinkled and delicate they resemble tiny pieces of crepe paper. But they’re completely real. And there are a lot of them! Swipe to see its flowers closeup.

🌸Op het eerste gezicht lijken de bloemen van deze 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 (𝘓𝘢𝘨𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘰𝘦𝘮𝘪𝘢 𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘪𝘤𝘢) wel op een botanisch knutselproject - de bloemen zijn zo dun, gekreukt en delicaat dat ze op kleine stukjes crêpepapier lijken. The Victoria leaf has been put to the test, the cheese has been lifted, and the Water Lily Weigh-Off is officially in the books! 🧿The plants that kept evil away.
During the Middle Ages, some plants were believed to have powers far beyond healing. Mandrake, garlic, mugwort and otehrs were believed to protect people from witches, demons and other scary stuff!
🧄Whether they actually worked... well, we`ll let you decide.

In de Middeleeuwen geloofde men dat sommige planten krachten hadden die veel verder gingen dan genezing. Men geloofde dat alruin, knoflook, bijvoet en andere planten mensen beschermden tegen heksen, demonen en andere enge dingen!
