It is said that extracts from belladonna were used by women to dilate their pupils, creating a `dreamy` look that was considered attractive during the Renaissance. This gave rise to the name belladonna, meaning `beautiful woman`.โ

Tijdens de Renaissance zouden vrouwen een extract van de wolfskers in hun ogen druppelen om hun pupillen te verwijden, waardoor ze een โdromerigeโ blik kregen die tijdens de Renaissance als aantrekkelijk werd beschouwd. Hieruit is de naam belladonna ontstaan, wat โmooie vrouwโ betekent.
